Conservation Status: Not of concern

The fruitbodies of Ramaria cystidiophora are upright, medium-sized, with distinctive yellow branches, often with brighter lemon yellow tips, fuzzy white stipe base, often a sweet odor of anise or citrus, and clamped basidia. The species has been divided into several varieties based on differences in spore length, details of branch color (peach-color in var. anisata), flesh consistency, odor, and bruising reactions. All of these are gradational characters and thus it is not always easy to identify a collection to variety level, however, the yellow color and upright habit make the species fairly easy to recognize.
